Rolling SIM Only Deals With Nothing to Cancel

Rolling SIM Only Deals With Nothing to Cancel

The awkward part of a mobile contract is never the first month. It is month fourteen, when the handset is paid off in all but name, your usage has changed, and leaving still costs money. A rolling SIM only deal has no month fourteen. The plan lasts thirty days, and at the end of it you renew, swap or stop — there is no agreement to exit because there was never one to enter.

What Thirty Days Means Here

It means exactly what it says. No contract, no termination fee, no credit check — all three are stated on the deals page itself rather than buried. You buy a plan, it runs for thirty days, and then you decide again. Nothing renews behind your back into a longer term, and moving up or down the range is a purchase rather than an amendment.

Every tier includes 5G, an instant digital SIM option, 100 international minutes and EU roaming, so the differences between them come down to data and UK calls rather than features appearing and disappearing as you climb.

The Five Tiers

UK Plan Smart — 5GB

Lists at £5.00 and is currently £3.50, thirty percent off the first month. Carries 1000 UK calls and texts rather than unlimited, 100 international minutes and EU roaming capped at 5GB. The tier for a light second phone, a child's first handset, or anyone who is on wi-fi most of the day and simply needs the line to exist.

National Plus — 30GB

Lists at £10.00 and is currently £5.00, half price for the first month. Thirty gigabytes is the sweet spot for ordinary daily use — maps, music, social, a bit of video — without paying for headroom you will not reach. If you have no idea what you use, this is the sensible place to start.

UK Plan Super Extra — 75GB

Lists at £15.00 and is currently £7.50. Unlimited UK calls and texts, and the roaming allowance steps up to EU and India capped at 12GB, which is the point in the range where travel starts being covered properly rather than nominally.

UK Plan Mega Plus — 120GB

Lists at £20.00 and is currently £10.00. The same EU and India roaming cap of 12GB, with enough data to tether a laptop through a working week without counting. For a household running one connection across several devices, this is usually the tier that stops the arguments.

UK Plan Unlimited

Lists at £25.00 and is currently £12.50. Unlimited data subject to a fair usage policy, with EU and India roaming capped at 35GB — the largest roaming allowance in the range by some margin, and the reason this tier makes sense for anyone who spends real time outside the UK.

Keeping Your Number

Switching does not mean changing number. A transfer is requested during setup, and the useful order is to start it before cancelling anything elsewhere, so the two lines overlap rather than leaving a gap where nobody can reach you. The handset comes with you too, provided it is unlocked — a request the old network handles on asking. Between the number and the phone, the two things that make switching feel like an upheaval are the two things that do not actually change, which is why a pay as you go SIM deal is a smaller decision than it looks.

One Thing to Watch

The discounts above apply to the first month only, not for a run of months. That is different from how some promotions work and it is the single detail worth noting before you buy: £5.00 on the 30GB tier becomes £10.00 from the second month. On a plan with nothing to cancel that is a mild consideration rather than a problem, but it should not be a surprise.

Before You Buy

Thirty days is short enough that choosing the wrong tier costs one cycle. Read last month's data figure off your current phone, buy the tier above it, and adjust next month if you were wrong. That freedom is the whole point of a no contract SIM, and it is worth more over a year than a few pounds of difference between neighbouring tiers.

All five tiers, with the current and standard price on each, are listed by Lycamobile.
